ShotWithEditor
Capture a full page, a region or a single element, redact what should not be shared and export a PNG, JPEG, WebP or searchable PDF. Everything runs in your browser.

- Pro is optional
The Problem
Screenshots of dashboards, inboxes and settings pages are full of things you did not mean to share: email addresses, API keys, card numbers. Most screenshot tools leave the cleanup to you, and some upload your image to a server first.
What ShotWithEditor Does
Four Ways To Capture
Full page, visible area, a selected region or a single element, with keyboard shortcuts (Alt+Shift+S, V, R and E). Sticky bars and inner scrolling are handled for you.
Finds Sensitive Data For You
On page captures it reads the page's own text and flags email addresses, phone numbers, card numbers, IBANs, API keys and tokens, IP addresses, SSNs, long secrets and password fields. Review each one before you export.
Redaction That Removes The Pixels
Blur, pixelate and redact are designed to remove the original pixels from the exported image, not just cover them.
A Full Editor
Arrow, line, box, ellipse, pen, highlight, text, numbered steps, spotlight, magnifier, crop and eyedropper, with layers, undo and redo. Open, paste or drop any image to edit it too.
Searchable PDFs
Export a PDF whose text you can select and search. Free exports fit the image. Pro adds paginated A4, Letter and Legal pages with a header, footer and watermark.
A Library With Search
Save captures to a library in your browser and search the text of the pages you captured. Free keeps 10 captures, Pro keeps 100.
How It Works
Install And Pin It
Add ShotWithEditor to Firefox and pin its icon from the extensions menu.
Capture
Click the icon or press Alt+Shift+S for a full page. Pick region or element mode from the popup.
Edit And Export
Redact the flagged items or draw your own boxes, then download a PNG, JPEG, WebP or PDF, or save it to your library.
Verify It Yourself
ShotWithEditor asks for six permissions and each has a job. Here is what they do, and how to check.
- activeTab
- Lets it read the tab you capture, only after you click its icon, use a shortcut or pick its menu item. It has no standing access to every site.
- scripting
- Runs the capture code on that one tab.
- storage and unlimitedStorage
- Saves your settings and your library on your device, with room for larger captures.
- downloads
- Saves the files you export.
- contextMenus
- Adds the right-click action for editing an image.
- Network
- None, except one case. If you buy Pro and click Activate, it checks your license key with api.gumroad.com. Screenshots, page text and page addresses are never sent.
Open about:addons, choose ShotWithEditor and read its Permissions tab. Your library lives in your browser, and Clear All History in Settings removes it. Read the privacy policy.
Questions
Does ShotWithEditor upload my screenshots?
No. Captures, edits and your library stay in your browser. The only server the extension contacts is api.gumroad.com, and only after you enter and activate a Pro license key.
Does it find sensitive data in images I import?
No. Automatic detection reads the text of the page you captured, so it works on page captures only. There is no OCR. On an imported image you draw the redaction boxes yourself.
Will automatic redaction catch everything?
Not necessarily. Review every redaction before you share a file.
Is it free?
Yes. The Free plan covers every capture mode, the full editor and redaction. Pro is optional and adds a larger library, paginated PDFs, bulk ZIP download and file-name templates.
Is there a Chrome version?
Not yet. ShotWithEditor is available for Firefox now.
