Help us make this better
Runlocaltools.online is built around real problems. A lot of the tools started because we needed a practical way to do something and couldn’t find a good solution. So if something isn’t working, tell us. And if something doesn’t exist yet, tell us that too.
Reporting a bug
Because RunLocalTools processes work in your browser, problems can sometimes depend on your specific device, browser, available memory or file.
When reporting a problem, please include:
-
The name of the tool
-
What you were trying to do
-
Your browser
-
Your operating system
-
Approximate file size, if a file was involved
-
What happened
-
Any error message you saw
The more specific the report, the easier it is to reproduce.
Before reporting a problem
A few simple checks can solve some browser-side issues:
Refresh the page
Try a normal refresh first.
If the tool appears to be using an outdated version, a hard refresh can also help.
Check available memory
Large images, PDFs, video files and other demanding workloads can require substantial RAM.
If a tool becomes slow or stops responding, closing unnecessary browser tabs can help.
Check browser permissions
Some tools use browser capabilities such as file access, the clipboard, the camera, microphone or screen capture.
If a permission was blocked, check your browser’s site permissions.
Requesting a new tool
If you have an idea for a new tool, don’t worry about explaining it like a software engineer.
Tell us the problem you want solved.
For example:
“I regularly receive CSV files with duplicate rows and need to clean them before importing them into another system.”
That’s much more useful than:
“Build a CSV tool.”
Specific problems lead to better tools.
What makes a good request?
Useful requests usually explain:
-
What you’re trying to accomplish
-
What makes the existing options frustrating
-
What input you normally start with
-
What output you need
-
Any important features or limitations
If the task can realistically be handled locally in a browser, that’s especially interesting to us.
Send feedback
Use the form on this page to report a bug, request a feature or suggest a completely new tool.
And if you’ve found a tool particularly useful, you can tell us that too.
It helps us understand what deserves more development.
