About RunLocalTools
Powerful tools. Running on your device.
RunLocalTools started with a simple frustration:
Why does doing something basic with a file so often mean uploading it somewhere, creating an account, starting a trial, hitting a limit or being pushed toward a subscription?
A lot of those tasks don’t actually require a remote server.
So we started building the tools we wanted to use ourselves.
Not just another collection of utilities
RunLocalTools isn’t intended to be a directory of one-button gimmicks.
The idea is to build real, useful software that happens to run directly in your browser.
That means a tool can start with the basic version of a task, but it doesn’t have to stop there.
When useful, we build deeper functionality into the same tool — more controls, more formats, better workflows, useful exports and capabilities that other services might reserve for paid plans.
And we keep those capabilities available without turning every useful feature into a subscription.
Local by design
The architecture is just as important as the features.
Where a task can reasonably be performed in the browser, we prefer to process it there.
That means your browser can do the work instead of requiring your files to be uploaded to a RunLocalTools processing server.

Free means free
RunLocalTools is built around the idea that useful software shouldn’t automatically become a recurring bill.
The tools are available without requiring an account or subscription.
There may eventually be unobtrusive advertising around the platform, because software still costs time and infrastructure to build and maintain, but the core philosophy remains the same:
Useful tools should remain useful without putting ordinary functionality behind a paywall.
A growing software platform
The library covers everything from image and PDF work to developer tools, spreadsheets, finance, privacy, media, creator workflows and everyday utilities.
The interesting part isn’t simply how many tools exist.
It’s what happens when those tools begin working together.
A tool that cleans data can lead into a converter.
An image tool can lead into compression and metadata removal.
A PDF workflow can involve merging, page management, metadata, redaction and compression.
We’re building toward that kind of ecosystem.
Built by Kloudtapp
RunLocalTools is operated by Kloudtapp.
The platform is developed as part of a broader effort to build practical browser-based software that gives people more control over the work they do with their own devices and data.
Where we’re going
We’re still building.
New tools will continue to arrive, existing tools will continue to improve, and the platform will evolve based on actual problems people need solved.
