Purple Screen — Fullscreen Purple Ambient Light & Backdrop

A deep purple fullscreen screen for ambient room glow, gaming and stream backdrops, or a solid purple background. Dimmable, free, and runs locally.

What it does

This page fills your display with purple (#800080). It’s a popular color for ambient glow in a gaming or streaming setup, an evening mood light, and a plain background for slides and thumbnails.

How it works

Purple mixes red and blue, so it sits between warm and cool light. It is also quite dark by default, so it works well as a low-glare ambient screen. Drag up for a lighter lavender, drag left or right to move toward violet or magenta, or pick rebeccapurple, indigo or mediumpurple from the named list. Want to turn the color into a smooth shifting backdrop? Switch to Rainbow sweep or a Two-color gradient in the Color Screen tool. If you’re matching it to a brand, the OKLCH color picker helps you fine-tune it perceptually.

How to use it

  1. Press Go fullscreen.
  2. Adjust the shade by dragging, or type a hex.
  3. Turn on the clock if you want a time display in the glow.
  4. Press Esc to exit.
