Image → SVG Converter
Traces a raster image (PNG, JPEG) into a vector SVG — turning fixed pixels into scalable paths that stay crisp at any size. Works best on simple, high-contrast source images like logos and line art rather than detailed photographs.
How to use it
Upload the image, adjust the color-detection threshold and level of detail (fewer paths for a cleaner, simplified trace; more paths to preserve finer detail at the cost of a more complex file), and preview the traced result. Export as SVG.
FAQ
Will this work well on a photograph, or just simple graphics? Simple, high-contrast graphics — logos, icons, line drawings — trace cleanly into clean vector shapes; complex photographs generally produce messy, overly complicated SVGs since photographic detail doesn’t translate naturally into flat vector paths.
Why would I want an SVG instead of just keeping the PNG? SVGs scale to any size without losing sharpness (unlike a raster image, which pixelates when enlarged), and they’re typically much smaller in file size for simple graphics like logos — useful for anything that needs to display crisply across different screen sizes.
Can I edit the resulting SVG paths afterward? The exported SVG is standard vector markup, editable in any vector graphics editor that supports SVG — this tool handles the trace/conversion step, not further path editing.
What if my source image already has a busy, detailed background? Cleaner input traces more cleanly — removing or simplifying the background first (with Transparent background, for instance) before converting will generally produce a much cleaner SVG result.
