Free Online Tally Counter — Multiple Counters, Targets & History

A fast, free tap counter for reps, laps, headcounts, and more. Keep unlimited named counters with targets, history, and CSV export — remembered in your browser, no account needed.

What it does

A big, tappable counter for anything you need to count by hand — reps, laps, prayer counts, attendees at a door, wins and losses, streaks. Add as many named counters as you like, switch between them with tabs, and each one remembers its own count, step size, and settings between visits. Set an optional target and watch a progress bar fill in; every tap is logged with a timestamp so you can see your pace and export the whole history.

How it works

Every counter is stored locally in this browser, keyed to its own name, so counting “Laps” and “Push-ups” side by side never mixes their numbers up, and closing the tab doesn’t lose your count. Taps are logged with a timestamp, which lets the tool work out your pace (“~5.0 per minute”) from real tap history rather than a fixed assumption, and lets you export that history as a CSV for anything from a workout log to an attendance record. A single-level undo protects against the most common mistake — an accidental tap — without the complexity of a full undo/redo stack.

How to use it

  1. Rename the default counter, or tap “+ New counter” to start a fresh one — or pick a ready-made preset like Push-ups or Attendee headcount to skip setup entirely.
  2. Tap + or − to count, or use the step buttons to change the increment (±1, ±5, ±10, or a custom step).
  3. On desktop, use the ↑ / ↓ arrow keys or spacebar instead of clicking. On mobile, swipe right on the number to add and left to subtract.
  4. Set an optional target in the sidebar to get a progress bar and a notification the moment you hit it.
  5. Use “Presentation mode” to blow the number up full-screen — handy for a door headcount or a shared screen.
  6. Export a counter’s full tap history as a CSV any time from the sidebar.

FAQ

Do I lose my count if I close the tab or refresh? No — every counter’s value, settings, and history are saved to this browser automatically. It’s tied to this device and this browser, not an online account, so it won’t follow you to a different computer.

Can I run more than one counter at the same time? Yes, there’s no limit. Each one gets its own tab, its own color, its own step size, and its own history.

What happens when I hit my target? You’ll get a toast notification and the progress bar fills to 100%. The counter keeps counting past the target if you keep tapping — it doesn’t lock or reset.

Does “Undo” go back more than one step? No, it undoes exactly the last tap or reset. That’s deliberate — it covers the common accidental-tap case without the complexity (and confusion) of a deeper undo stack.

Can I use this for a long workout without my phone’s screen turning off? The counter itself doesn’t control your screen, but pairing it with the screen wake lock tool in another tab will keep your phone awake while you count.

Is there a limit to how high a counter can go? No practical limit — counters use ordinary JavaScript numbers, so they’re accurate well past anything you’d realistically tap out by hand.
