Yellow Screen — Fullscreen Yellow Display & Tint Check
A pure yellow fullscreen screen for bright, warm light and for checking your display for uneven tint or stuck pixels. Free, local, no download.
What it does
This page opens a pure yellow (#ffff00) screen. Yellow is a very bright, high-visibility color, which makes it useful as a warm accent light and as a test color: it lights the red and green elements of every pixel together, so patches that look greenish, brownish or washed out can reveal an uneven panel.
How it works
Yellow is red plus green with no blue. A healthy display shows a uniform yellow across the whole screen; a visible patch of a different shade, or a pixel that stays dark or blue, points to a panel or backlight irregularity. For a calmer tone, drag down for a darker mustard, or choose gold or khaki from the named list. You can also shift toward orange by dragging left, which is handy if you want the warm look without the glare.
How to use it
- Press Go fullscreen.
- Look for patches, bands or dots that differ from the rest of the screen.
- Adjust the color or dimmer to taste.
- Press Esc to exit.
FAQ
Why would I test my screen with yellow?
Because it combines two of the three channels, it exposes uneven tints and stuck pixels that a single color can miss. For a full pass, run the Display test mode in the Color Screen tool.
Can I use yellow as a warm lamp?
Yes, as an accent. For a softer tone try #ffe8c7 (“Warm white”) from the quick colors, and lower the dimmer.
Is a very bright yellow screen hard on the eyes?
It can be, in a dark room. Lower your device brightness or use the dimmer.
