App Icon Set Generator: iOS, Android, PWA and Desktop Icons in One ZIP
Free app icon generator. Turn one image or SVG into every iOS, macOS, Android adaptive, PWA, favicon, Windows, Tauri and Electron icon size, with Contents.json and manifest files. Runs in your browser; nothing is uploaded.
What it does
Drop in one logo or piece of artwork and the tool produces the full icon set that app stores and platforms ask for, as a single ZIP with a folder per platform and a README that says where each file goes.
- iOS and iPadOS: an
AppIcon.appiconsetfor Xcode, either as the modern single 1024 px icon or the full legacy size list, with iOS 18 Dark and Tinted variants. - macOS: an
AppIcon.appiconsetand a real.icnsfile, with an optional macOS-style rounded inset and shadow. - Android: legacy launcher icons for every density, round icons, adaptive icon layers, a monochrome layer for Android 13 themed icons, notification icons and the 512 px Play Store icon, plus the XML that ties them together.
- Web and PWA: favicons,
favicon.ico,apple-touch-icon, maskable icons, Windows tiles, a manifesticonsblock and a ready-to-paste<head>snippet. - Desktop and more: Windows
.ico, Linux hicolor sizes, Tauri and Electron folders, Chrome extension icons, Expo / React Native assets, and any custom sizes you list.
How it works
Your image is drawn onto a 1024 px master with a canvas, then every smaller size is made by stepped halving (each step is at most a 2:1 reduction), which keeps edges clean. Very small sizes can get a gentle sharpen. For Android adaptive, PWA maskable and monochrome icons, the tool measures how far your visible artwork reaches from the centre and scales it to sit inside the platform’s safe circle, so masks do not clip it. The ICO, ICNS, Contents.json and ZIP files are written directly in your browser.
How to use it
- Drop in a square logo (1024 px or larger is best) or an SVG.
- Choose how it fits (pad or crop), set a background colour, gradient or image, and adjust size and position while watching the live preview.
- Tick the platforms you ship to. Adjust options such as the iOS format, the dark icon colour or the Android monochrome source.
- Read the pre-flight checks, then download one ZIP, or use the ZIP button beside a platform for just that platform.
- Copy the generated config snippets, or drag the folders into Xcode, Android Studio or your web project.
What you can preview and check
- Your icon at real pixel sizes, with 16 px and 32 px zoomed in.
- Mask previews: iOS squircle, PWA maskable circle, Android circle, squircle, rounded square, teardrop and Android 13 themed.
- Home-screen mock-ups on light and dark wallpaper.
- Heuristic checks for a low-resolution source, transparency in the App Store icon, artwork outside the safe zone, edges that vanish against light or dark wallpapers, loss of detail at 16 px, and a Play Store icon over 1 MB. These checks catch common mistakes but do not guarantee store approval.
Supported formats and limits
- Input: PNG, JPG, WebP, AVIF, GIF (first frame) and SVG. SVG is rendered at high resolution so vector logos stay sharp.
- Output: lossless PNG, plus ICO, ICNS, JSON, XML and HTML snippets. All icons are rendered in the sRGB colour space (no Display-P3).
- Custom sizes can be 1 to 1024 px. Very large source images are scaled to a 2048 px working size.
- Apple’s Dark and Tinted icons are auto-generated approximations. Upload your own dark icon for best results. Tinted icons are only produced in the single-1024 iOS mode.
- Output files are not run through a PNG optimizer, so the ZIP is a little larger than the one a dedicated compressor would give you. You can shrink individual PNGs afterwards with the Compress tool.
Privacy
Everything in this tool runs locally in your browser. Your image is never uploaded, there are no network features and no third-party library is downloaded, so there is nothing to turn on or off. If your browser’s “keep files” setting is on, your image and settings are kept in this browser so a refresh does not lose your work. The Clear saved files and settings button deletes them.
FAQ
What size should my source image be? Use a square 1024 × 1024 px image or an SVG. The tool warns you if the artwork has to be enlarged, since big icons made from a small image look soft.
Why does the App Store icon have no transparency? Apple rejects App Store icons with transparency. If your background is set to “None”, the tool fills the iOS App Store icon, apple-touch icon and Windows tiles with the fill colour you choose.
What are Android adaptive and monochrome icons? Modern Android builds the launcher icon from a background layer and a foreground layer, then crops them with the device’s mask shape. The monochrome layer lets Android 13 and newer recolour your icon to match the wallpaper. The tool exports all three layers for every density, plus the ic_launcher.xml that references them.
Can I use a different foreground image than the main one? Yes. Under Platform options, choose a separate foreground layer, and choose a background image under Artwork if you want one.
Does it make a favicon too? Yes. The Web / PWA option produces 16, 32 and 48 px PNGs, a multi-size favicon.ico, an apple-touch icon and, when you start from an SVG, a favicon.svg. For a favicon-only workflow there is also the Favicon generator.
My image is not square. What happens? Choose “Fit (pad)” to keep the whole image on a square canvas, or “Fill (crop)” to crop to a centred square. You can also move and resize the artwork.
