Paste Image to Download — Save a Clipboard Image Instantly

Paste an image straight from your clipboard and save it as a PNG, JPEG, or WebP file — no upload, no account, nothing leaves your browser. Works with screenshots, copied photos, and pasted graphics.

What it does

You’ve copied an image — a screenshot, a photo from another app, a graphic someone pasted into a chat — and there’s no obvious “save” button. This tool gives you one: press paste anywhere on the page and the image appears immediately, ready to rename, convert, and download in the format you actually need.

How it works

The tool listens for the clipboard’s paste event directly in your browser and reads any image data it contains — no server, no upload step. Once an image lands, it’s kept as a small in-browser stack so you can paste several images in a row without losing earlier ones. From there you can download any of them through the standard rename-and-pick-format flow (PNG, JPEG, or WebP), or copy a cleaned-up version straight back to your clipboard.

How to use it

  1. Copy an image anywhere — a screenshot tool, another website, an image viewer, a chat app.
  2. Come to this page and press Ctrl+V (or ⌘+V on a Mac) anywhere on it. On a phone or if keyboard paste isn’t available, use the “Paste from clipboard” button instead.
  3. Your image appears in the list with its dimensions and file size.
  4. Click Download to rename it and choose a format, or Copy to put a fresh copy back on your clipboard.
  5. Repeat for as many images as you need — each one stays in its own row until you remove it.

Supported formats

Downloads as PNG, JPEG, or WebP. Copying back to the clipboard always uses PNG, since that’s the format clipboard image writes reliably support across browsers.

FAQ

Why isn’t Ctrl+V doing anything? Some browsers only allow clipboard paste when the page has focus and the clipboard actually contains image data (not just a copied file path or text). Click anywhere on the page first, then paste — or use the “Paste from clipboard” button, which asks your browser for permission directly.

Is my screenshot uploaded anywhere? No. Everything happens locally in your browser. The image is only saved in your browser’s own storage so a refresh doesn’t lose it, and never touches a server.

Will this remember my images if I close the tab? It’s designed to survive an accidental refresh or navigating away and back, for as long as your browser keeps that storage. If you want to make sure nothing is left behind — say, on a public or shared computer — use the Clear all button before you leave.

Can I paste more than one image at a time? Yes. Each paste adds to the list rather than replacing what’s there, so you can collect several images and download or copy them individually.

My screenshot has something sensitive in it — can I blur or black it out here? This tool is just for getting a clipboard image onto your disk. For blacking out or blurring sensitive parts of an image before you share it, use the image redaction tool.

What if I need a different format than PNG/JPEG/WebP? Download it here first, then run it through the format converter for anything else, or the compressor if file size is the concern.

Privacy

Pasted images are kept in your browser’s own storage so an accidental refresh doesn’t lose them — they’re never uploaded. Because pasted images are often screenshots that can contain private information, use the Clear all button to remove everything before stepping away from a shared or public computer.
