This policy explains what information is handled when you use RunLocalTools, what happens to files processed through the tools, and what information we may receive when you contact us.
Your files
RunLocalTools is designed around local processing.
When a tool is designed to process a file locally, the file is processed in your browser on your device rather than being uploaded to a RunLocalTools server for processing.
We do not operate a general-purpose backend file-processing service for the tools.
This means that selecting a file for a local browser tool does not, by itself, create a copy of that file on our servers.

Your browser and device
RunLocalTools is a website, so your browser must retrieve the site’s code and other resources from our hosting infrastructure.
This is different from uploading a working file to a server for processing.
The exact information involved in delivering a website can depend on our hosting, CDN, browser and network infrastructure.
Local preferences
Some tools may remember settings or preferences using browser storage such as localStorage.
These settings remain in your browser rather than being stored as part of a RunLocalTools account.
Local browser storage is not the same as encrypted cloud storage. If you use a shared device, other users with access to that browser profile may potentially access locally stored information.
You can manage or clear browser site data through your browser’s settings.
Accounts
RunLocalTools does not currently require an account to use the public toolkit.
There is no user profile required simply to use the tools.
Feedback and contact forms
If you contact us through a feedback form, tool request, enterprise inquiry or email, we receive the information you choose to submit.
This may include information such as:
- Your name
- Email address
- Message content
- Technical information you choose to provide
- Details about a bug or tool request
We use this information to respond to your request and communicate with you about the matter you contacted us about.
We do not use submitted feedback as a substitute for processing your files through the tools.
Advertising
RunLocalTools may introduce advertising in the future to help support the continued development and hosting of the platform.
If advertising is introduced, the technologies used by the advertising provider may involve cookies, similar technologies or information used for advertising and measurement.
The privacy policy will be updated before or when such functionality is introduced to explain the relevant providers, technologies and choices available to users.

Those services may process technical information according to their own policies.
The fact that a tool processes a file locally does not mean that every part of the surrounding website is operated without any third-party infrastructure.

We design the public toolkit so that locally processed files do not need to be uploaded to RunLocalTools servers for processing.
However, no website, browser, device or computer system can be guaranteed to be completely secure.
You should maintain appropriate device security and keep backups of important files.
Children’s privacy
RunLocalTools is not designed to knowingly collect personal information from children.
If you believe a child has submitted personal information to us through a contact or feedback channel, please contact us so that we can review the situation.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy as RunLocalTools develops, especially when new services, functionality, hosting arrangements or advertising are introduced.
When we make material changes, we will update the effective date on this page.
